Egg Custard

Step 1

Scald (bring to simmer) 3 cups milk

Step 2

Beat together until fluffy:

  • 3 eggs
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Step 3

Gradually pour scalded milk into egg mixture, stirring constantly. Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake at 350° 30 to 40 minutes, or until center is just "set". Good.
